Season One

Episode 6-7: “Downfall of a Droid” and “Duel of the Droids”
Synopsis: R2-D2 goes missing after a battle. Anakin is determined to find him, even as everyone else wants him to accept the loss and use his new R3 unit. All the while, they look for a Separatist listening post.

Rating: TPM. Even though there’s a lot of action, it’s a lot of Ahsoka not dying while she duels with Grievous and other eyebrow raising events. They’re well made, and a must for R2 fans but they won’t leave you on the edge of your seat.

Episode 8: “Bombad Jedi”
Synopsis: The planet of Rodia is seeking aid from the Republic. Padme is sent to negotiate… along with Jar Jar Binks. Shenanigans ensue when the Separatists show up and Jar Jar is confused for a Jedi Knight.

Rating: TPM. If you don’t like Jar Jar, you’re not going to start with this episode. However, if you’re a fan or maybe you can just tolerate him, it’s a pretty amusing episode. Most of it involves a very exasperated C-3PO babysitting the Gungan. It’s Anthony Daniels at his finest.

Episode 9: Cloak of Darkness
Synopsis: Ahsoka travels with Jedi Luminara Unduli as they transport a captured Separatist leader to jail somewhere. Dooku sends Ventress to intercept. It’s Ladies’ Fight Night on a Republic cruiser. Meanwhile, Clone Commander Gree is there and he has a haircut that looks like bacon.

Rating: ANH. Yes, this episode is highly Ahsoka-centric. And yes she says things at different points of the episode. But it’s not a TPM type episode. Ahsoka doesn’t get to have an attitude with impunity. Also, there’s a fairly decent plot. It takes a slightly different turn than you might think. The series starts to pick up some steam from here on.

Episode 10: Lair of Grievous
Synopsis: Kit Fisto is sent on a mission to a Separatist base, which serves as the home for one General Grevious. He meets up with his former Padawan Nahdar Vebb and they and their clone troopers attempt to capture the General.

Rating: RotS. This is one you will not want to skip (except *maybe* the younglings.) It’s the darkest and most violent of the season. And it’s a good showcase of Grievous’ character. Continuity shifts ahead! This was one of the first major run-ins with canon. Though enough is left to mystery where the two stories could conceivably coincide.
