Star Wars Saga Available Digitally

The entire “Star Wars” saga, from “The Phantom Menace” to “Return of the Jedi,” will arrive Friday on digital HD for the first time ever.

That means fans will be able to purchase all six films in George Lucas’ space epic, either as a collection or individually, from such digital retailers as iTunes, Google Play, VUDU, Amazon, Xbox Video, PlayStation Store and Verizon Fios.

“We’re thrilled that fans will be able to enjoy the ‘Star Wars’ Saga on their digital devices wherever they go,” Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy said in a statement. “These films broke new ground in technology, design, sound, and visual effects, and we’ve created some very special bonus material which delves into the Saga’s rich history, including new and never-before-released conversations between legendary ‘Star Wars’ artists – the masters who helped George bring his iconic universe to life.”

Each digital release will come with two new bonus features, “Star Wars: Discoveries From Inside,” and “Conversations,” featuring insights from key contributors to the franchise. In addition, there will be a curated collection of classic “Star Wars” extras.  Check out the breakdown of bonus features beneath the promo for “Star Wars”: The Digital Movie Collection.
