StarWars.com has announced the cast of the first ever Star Wars live-action series, The Mandalorian. The show will debut on Disney+ in 2019. Pedro Pascal has been cast in the titular role, “a lone Mandalorian gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy.” He is joined by Gina Carano, Giancarlo Esposito, Emily Swallow, Carl Weathers, Omid Abtahi, Werner Herzog, and Nick Nolte.

The Mandalorian is currently in production. Jon Favreau serves as writer and executive producer for the series. Dave Filoni, Kathleen Kennedy, and Colin Wilson also serve as executive producers. Episodic directors include Dave Filoni (Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Star Wars Rebels), Deborah Chow (Jessica Jones), Rick Famuyiwa (Dope), Bryce Dallas Howard (Solemates), and Taika Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok).
